Jersey Shore Pondscapes Videos

Your Source For Information Based On Over 25 Years Of Experience On All Things Related To Koi Ponds And Water Gardens!

My YouTube channel Jersey Shore Pondscapes Videos consists of a collection of videos aimed to help you design, build, maintain and ultimately enjoy your koi pond, water garden or water feature.  My overall goal is to educate people about ponds, and help them not to make bad decisions.  I really thought that this would be a great way to share the many things that I’ve learned and experienced over my 25+ years of professionally building ponds.  I’ve seen a lot.  Some things really good, and somethings really bad.  I hope that my videos help to reduce the bad and the expense that goes along with it.  I want more people to be successful in building their ponds and really enjoy them for many years.  Also, if your hiring somebody other than yourself to build your pond, it’s great to have some knowledge about ponds first.  You should have some input as to what you may want, or just know somewhat about how to do things.  That way you can be more confident that the work is being done properly, and you will not get into a position of trusting somebody that you really don’t know to build a pond that they may or may not actually know a lot about.  Ponds are not cheap, and  it can be very costly if mistakes are made.

I’m really trying to connect this website and the YouTube channel in such a way that they are basically extensions of each other.  For example, you can see pictures and brief descriptions of ponds here, and then go on my YouTube channel and learn specifically about how and why something was done in a particular way.  Or maybe you can watch a video and learn about how to build a waterfall and then come to the website to see pictures and get ideas.  I’ve included a lot of pictures, and my hope is that at least one of them will inspire you.

Here Are Some Examples Of The Videos

How I Make My Videos…

I cleaned out and setup a corner of my basement to be a little video recording studio.  The large professional greenscreen is a really nice piece from Manfrotto, and is attached to a lightweight aluminum frame, it is 13′ x 7′.   I use three standard work lights with LED bulbs from Home depot to light the greenscreen.  The main lighting is all from Aputure.  A large Light Storm 300X with a light dome II is on my right, and a smaller Light Storm 60 D with a hood is on my left side.  Above me, I use two to four Aputure MC mini lights.  A nice shotgun mic connected to a Zoom X8 records the sound to my camera, a Fujifilm XT-4 with a 50mm 2.0 lens.  The videos are all edited using Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve.
