Escape From Everyday Life

An Escape From Your Hectic Everyday Life

A backyard garden pond can be a real joy for many years when built properly.  However, they can also be a real nightmare, a major headache with nothing but problems when built poorly with bad equipment.  So if you’re planning to build a pond, build it right and build it once.  Don’t skimp with materials or size.  You will only be regretting it later.

With that in mind, your pond if built properly will be a real joy.  Your backyard will become a place that you will spend a lot of time.  The pond will not be maintenance free, but the better it is set up , and the better the filtration system, the easier it will be to keep it clean, healthy, and functioning properly.

It should be a place to sit, relax and enjoy the sights and sounds that a pond creates.  Feeding the fish will be something that you and your fish will look forward to.  For most people, your fish can become pets, and some even name them.  Just watching them peacefully swim around your pond can be very relaxing.

If you have plants in your pond, they can be a visual delight.  The lush plants soften the rocks and boulders, add a variety of textures and colors, and add to the overall beauty of the environment that your pond is part of.  There are so many varieties of plants that you can add to your pond, and have flowers blooming all season long.

It’s a good idea to have a space for a bench, or a couple chairs next to the pond.  A place to sit and relax with a glass of wine or a good book.  Or, just listen to the sound of running water.  One thing that I really enjoy, is watching all the life that your pond will attract.  Everything from frogs, birds, insects, to squirrels and even deer.  Many creatures will enjoy your pond as much as you will!

You’re neighbors, friends and family will all want to see your pond, and feed your fish.  Build your pond in an area where all can enjoy it.
